Recently, in the Huangshayang sea area of Rudong, Jiangsu, Shanghai Yuanwei Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shanghai Yuanwei"), a subsidiary of Zhongtian Technology Group, successfully completed the construction of over 20 kilometers of exposed submarine cables and buried them, providing core equipment and independent technology to safeguard the safe operation of Asia's first flexible DC submarine cable transmission offshore wind power project.

The project covers three wind farms, namely Three Gorges H6, H10, and CGN H8, with a total installed capacity of 1.1 million kilowatts and an annual power generation of approximately 2.4 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the electricity needs of one million households. Due to its location in the complex tidal channel of the South Yellow Sea, the complex hydrodynamic movement has caused severe erosion in some areas, resulting in exposed submarine cables. If not dealt with in a timely manner, once a submarine cable failure occurs, the daily loss can reach millions of yuan. The maximum flow velocity in the construction area reaches 4 to 5 knots, and the historical maximum tidal range is 9.28 meters, which is the highest in China; The homework involves ± 400kV DC and 220kV/35kV AC cables, with a maximum diameter of 246mm. During construction, the submarine cables are running with electricity, making it extremely difficult.
In the face of extreme working conditions, Shanghai Yuanwei applies a new type of rear flushing ROV (underwater robot), using high-pressure hydraulic rear flushing technology to achieve natural settlement of submarine cables through precise jet disturbance of the seabed, achieving the designed burial depth while avoiding mechanical contact damage to the submarine cables. Through the collaboration of high-precision underwater positioning, autonomous operation, and remote monitoring systems, parameters can be flexibly adjusted according to different cable types, achieving precise laying of live submarine cables in complex sea conditions.
This successful practice demonstrates the full chain capability of Zhongtian Technology in the construction and operation of deep-sea cables, from core equipment to system integration. It provides replicable technical solutions for the management of complex sea conditions in China and continues to inject hard core energy into the high-quality development of offshore wind power in China.
