Dongguan Library (Headquarters) is located in the central square of Nancheng. It opened in September 2005 and is a national first-class library with a building area of 44654 square meters. The collection consists of 4.65 million paper books and over 1.5 million e-books, featuring the first comic library in mainland China, the first Cantonese opera library in China, and local literature in Dongguan.

The library is equipped with 24-hour self-service library, children's playground, special borrowing area and other functional areas. Admission is free of charge, and reader cards can be obtained for free. The "Library City" system constructed by it achieves full coverage of 24-hour self-service in 33 towns and streets, with convenient transportation, and is the core place for citizens to read, study, and enjoy cultural leisure.
