
Located in the Pearl River New Town, Guangzhou Grand Theater is a symbolic cultural landmark on the new central axis of the city. Designed by Pritzker Prize winner Zaha Hadid and acoustic master Sir Harold Marshall, the Guangzhou Grand Theatre was inaugurated in May 2010. The architectural style is like "round double gravel", with a strong sense of futurism, and has been rated as one of the "Top Ten Opera Houses in the World".
The theater has a building area of 73000 square meters, including 1687 opera halls, 350 experimental theaters, and rehearsal halls. Excellent acoustic design, capable of hosting various performances such as opera, symphony, drama, etc. at Guangzhou Grand Theatre. Operated by Zhongyan Cinema, it is one of the most advanced comprehensive performing arts centers in southern China.
