Xiamen Institute of Technology is located in Jimei District, Xiamen City. It is a private full-time undergraduate institution established in 2009 and converted in 2015. The campus covers an area of 869400 square meters, with elegant buildings and beautiful greenery, and has been awarded the title of "Most Beautiful Campus in China".

The school has 7 colleges and offers 38 undergraduate majors, mainly in engineering, covering six major disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, humanities, and arts. There are currently over 10000 full-time students and nearly a thousand faculty members.

The school adheres to the concept of "cultivating people with morality and culture" and implements a three in one training model of "liberal arts, knowledge, and ability". Approved as a master's degree granting unit cultivation project in 2025, with a focus on developing artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, and other directions to serve local industrial development.
